Para Latino Medical Center has recently acquired our latest piece of high-tech equipment for more accurate diagnostics: the Samsung WS80A Ultrasound System. The new unit provides exceptional image quality for women’s health issues, including cancer screening, breast examinations, gynecological tests and prenatal scans. The level of detail and more realistic color that is able to be captured on the large 23-inch screen is greatly enhanced beyond previous technology.

Making a precise diagnosis is critical to ensuring that the best possible medical treatments are prescribed. Our new ultrasound machine allows our doctors to get clearer and more detailed color images and greater tissue penetration than ever before. Advanced technology offers speckle reduction, edge enhancement and contrast enhancement for clear and natural images.

Definitions

bstetrics (OB) is the branch of medicine that deals with pregnancy and childbirth.

Gynecology (GYN) is the branch of medicine that deals with the functions and diseases specific to women and girls, especially those affecting the reproductive system.

A well woman examination is an exam offered to women to review elements of their reproductive health. It is recommended once a year for most women. The exam includes a breast examination, a pelvic examination and a pap smear but may also include other procedures.
